Tuesday pre-market, 8:30 AM ET, with the US complex reopening after the Memorial Day weekend on a constructive but binary-bifurcated tape that has to reconcile two opposing structural signals overnight. The bullish leg is the leaked 60-day ceasefire extension framework between Washington and Tehran, brokered through the Pakistan-Munir channel and confirmed by Munir’s own briefing to Chinese counterparts that a deal is “close to being reached,” which combined with Trump’s Memorial Day Truth Social cadence (“proceeding nicely”) drove the S&P 500 e-mini to an intraday record at 7,534 during the reduced Monday session. The bearish leg is the late-Monday US self-defense strike package on Bandar Abbas, with the Pentagon confirming targets included a surface-to-air missile site that had locked onto US aircraft and two IRGC small boats observed laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, after which the IRGC’s official statement claimed the downing of one MQ-9 Reaper plus contested fire against an RQ-4 and an F-35, and Iranian army spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi warned any new attack will draw a “far more severe” response that “will be heavier than before.” S&P 500 e-mini sits at 7,534, up 0.55 percent and at the cycle record, Nasdaq 100 e-mini at 26,510, up 0.45 percent on the AI cohort hold into the June 1 Jensen Huang Computex Taipei keynote, and Dow futures at 50,910, up 0.65 percent on the cyclical-cohort lead. The benchmark crude curve is structurally divergent for the first time this month, with Brent bid 3.16 percent to $99.18 on the Bandar Abbas strike risk premium and the IRGC mine-laying confirmation, while WTI prints 4.09 percent lower to $92.65 on the Trump “proceeding nicely” deal-bid that broke the Monday session in the Asian afternoon. The 10Y settled the abbreviated Friday session at 4.56 percent and is bid five basis points lower to 4.51 percent on the deal-optimism duration trade, with the 2Y bid six basis points to 3.95 percent and the 30Y bid four basis points to 5.03 percent, the cleanest single bull-flattening since the FOMC minutes. The leaked framework, according to reporting from Bloomberg, Al Jazeera and the AP, contains four binding provisions: a 60-day ceasefire extension from May 25 forward, the unconditional reopening of Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic with no toll mechanism, the US naval blockade lift on the Iranian Persian Gulf ports, and a 60-day negotiating window during which both sides commit to working through the uranium enrichment and broader sanctions-unfreeze packages without escalation. Trump’s parallel Truth Social demand that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan sign onto an Abraham Accords expansion as a precondition is the structural overlay that broadens the deal architecture beyond the bilateral Iran framework and is the cleanest single signal of the administration’s Gulf-wide repricing ambition. The Memorial Day Arlington remarks from Trump, joined by Vice President Vance, Defense Secretary Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chair Caine, explicitly honored the 13 US service members lost in the February Operation Epic Fury opening salvo against IRGC bases, framing the war as on track for resolution ahead of the 250th independence anniversary. Asia opened mixed with the Nikkei consolidating 0.25 percent lower to 64,996 after Monday’s massive plus 2.94 percent rip to 65,202 on the deal-bid catch-up, the Hang Seng flat at 25,604 in choppy trade reopening after the Vesak Day holiday, the CSI 300 plus 0.53 percent at 4,948 on the property cohort lift, the Kospi down 0.29 percent at 7,810, the ASX 200 down 0.39 percent at 8,658 on the energy cohort weakness, and Sensex and Nifty both lower by roughly 0.25 percent. Europe is mixed with the Stoxx 600 down 0.20 percent on profit-taking after Monday’s reopen rally that lifted the DAX plus 2.01 percent and the CAC 40 plus 1.76 percent, the FTSE 100 up 0.50 percent on mining strength, and Paris, Frankfurt and Milan all softening modestly into the US bell. Domestic earnings today bracket the day with AutoZone reporting before the open (consensus $36.13 EPS on $4.86 billion revenue, Q3 FY26) and Zscaler reporting after the close (consensus $1.01 EPS on $835.66 million revenue, with options pricing roughly a 13 percent implied move), and the 10 AM Conference Board Consumer Confidence print is the binding macro release into the open ahead of the Friday May 30 Core PCE print (April data, consensus 2.5 percent year on year). The base-case reading is that the Hormuz framework leak plus Munir’s “close to reached” briefing plus the Trump Truth Social cadence drive the headline-deal probability to a 58 percent base case for a Memorial-Day-week memorandum, with the Bandar Abbas strikes a controlled tactical signal that the US retains escalation dominance during the negotiation rather than a structural break in the back-channel, but the cliff-risk of a clean IRGC retaliation kinetic event remains the binding tail through the 72 hours into the Wednesday afternoon Salesforce print and the Thursday Costco and Dell reports.

Three things to internalize before the open:

  1. The Hormuz 60-day ceasefire framework leak plus the Munir “close to reached” briefing to Beijing plus the parallel Trump “proceeding nicely” Truth Social cadence is the cleanest single deal-architecture signal of the entire 90-plus day war, but the late-Monday US self-defense strike package on Bandar Abbas plus the IRGC’s MQ-9 Reaper downing claim plus the Shekarchi “far more severe” rhetoric is the cleanest single counter-signal that the deal is not a finished text and that both sides remain in active tactical posturing inside the 60-day negotiation envelope. We raise our memorandum probability mark to 58 percent from the Friday 46 percent on the framework leak plus the Munir-Beijing briefing, but the Brent at $99.18 (plus 3.16 percent on the strike news) versus WTI at $92.65 (down 4.09 percent on the deal read) is the structural confirmation that the benchmark curve divergence has reached its widest spread of the cycle. The right discipline through the Memorial-Day-week reopen is to lean modestly long into the framework deal-close on the equity complex while keeping the Brent curve hedge alive on the kinetic tail. The 60-day window structure is the clean negotiation runway that defers the uranium enrichment and sanctions-unfreeze packages to a phased timeline, which means the immediate market-moving variable is the Hormuz reopening confirmation and the naval-blockade lift rather than the nuclear program details.

  2. The Brent-WTI divergence at the widest spread of the cycle (Brent plus 3.16 percent on the Bandar Abbas strikes versus WTI down 4.09 percent on the deal bid) is the structural confirmation that the seaborne supply-risk premium has now decoupled from the domestic US production curve, and the right tactical positioning is to be paired Brent-long versus WTI-short rather than directionally long or short either benchmark. Brent tracks the Hormuz transit risk directly with the IRGC mine-laying confirmation putting a structural floor under the front-month, while WTI is insulated by the 13.5 million barrel per day US production base and reacts more cleanly to the headline deal-close cadence. The XLE complex sits in the middle of the spread and the better expression is a paired structure rather than a single-leg long energy exposure, because any clean framework signing would compress Brent to the $90s while leaving WTI roughly stable around current levels.

  3. The Conference Board Consumer Confidence 10 AM print into a UMich Final at 44.8 record-low backdrop is the binding consumer-cycle catalyst before the Friday Core PCE print, with the consensus pegged at 92.5 versus the April upwardly-revised 93.8, and any further deterioration below 90 would confirm the stagflation re-read on the cyclical cohort that the Walmart soft Q2 guide plus the Deere/Ross/Ralph Lauren reset has been struggling to break. The 1.5-point gap between the April CB read (93.8) and the UMich final (44.8) is the largest divergence between the two consumer surveys in the post-war history of both series, and the structural read is that the CB methodology (which leans more on labor-market questions) is holding up because the JOLTS and Initial Claims series remain reasonably stable, while the UMich methodology (which leans on inflation expectations) is being crushed by the gas-pump passthrough. A CB print at or above 92 would confirm the labor-market resilience read, a print below 88 would confirm the stagflation read and re-rate the cyclical cohort lower.

Iran: Hormuz Framework Leak Plus Bandar Abbas Self-Defense Strikes

Item Detail
Reported deal architecture 60-day ceasefire extension from May 25
Hormuz provision Unconditional reopening, no toll mechanism
Naval blockade US lifts on Iranian Persian Gulf ports
Uranium / nuclear Deferred to 60-day negotiating window
Sanctions / asset unfreeze Phased timeline inside 60-day window
Munir-Beijing briefing “Close to being reached”
Trump Truth Social cadence “Proceeding nicely” Memorial Day
US self-defense strikes SAM site Bandar Abbas + 2 IRGC mine-laying boats
IRGC counter-claim MQ-9 Reaper downed, RQ-4/F-35 fired upon
Iran army spox Shekarchi New attack draws “far more severe” response
Abraham Accords push Saudi, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan
War day count 88 (since Feb 26 Op Epic Fury opening)
Memo probability (Tue mark) 58% (up from 46% Fri)
Brent reaction +3.2% to $99.18 on strikes premium
WTI reaction -4.1% to $92.65 on deal bid

Our take on the Iran setup: The leaked framework is the cleanest single architectural confirmation we have ever seen for the war and the Munir briefing to Beijing that a deal is “close to being reached” is the structural cross-validation through the Chinese channel. The 60-day envelope that defers the uranium enrichment and sanctions-unfreeze packages to a phased timeline is the smart negotiating compromise that lets both sides claim victory on the immediate Hormuz reopening while booking the harder questions for the autumn. Against that, the Bandar Abbas strike package is best read as the Pentagon telegraphing to Tehran that the US retains tactical dominance during the negotiation, and the IRGC’s MQ-9 Reaper downing claim plus the Shekarchi “far more severe” rhetoric is the symmetric counter-posture that locks the kinetic-risk tail open through the 60-day window. We raise the memo probability mark to 58 percent on net, structurally bullish risk-on, and the Brent-WTI divergence is the textbook expression of the regime split.

US Strike Package Detail (Monday Evening to Tuesday AM Iran Time)

Asset / Target Detail
Bandar Abbas SAM site Surface-to-air missile site that had locked US aircraft
IRGC boat #1 Mine-laying in Strait of Hormuz
IRGC boat #2 Mine-laying in Strait of Hormuz
Distance from Hormuz chokepoint ~70 km / 42 miles
US assets in theater USS Abraham Lincoln, USS George HW Bush, USS Gerald Ford
Reuters / CENTCOM framing “Self-defense” strikes, not retaliatory
IRGC drone claim MQ-9 Reaper downed (timing unspecified)
IRGC additional claim RQ-4 Global Hawk and F-35 fired upon
Trump talks confirmation Talks with Iran continue today (May 26)
Marco Rubio framing “Deal is still possible,” talks May 26

Our take on the strike package: The Pentagon framing of “self-defense” rather than retaliatory is the cleanest single signal that the US is calibrating force to keep the negotiation track open, and the targeting of mine-laying boats specifically is the binding evidence that Iran was actively staging a Hormuz interdiction capability during the supposed ceasefire. The IRGC’s drone-downing claim is more important narrative-wise than militarily, because the MQ-9 Reaper is a roughly $30 million asset and the symbolic loss feeds the Tehran domestic political requirement for hardline credibility. The fact that Rubio confirmed talks continue today is the cleanest tactical signal that neither side is willing to walk away despite the kinetic exchange.

Memorial Day Cash Session (Reduced Hours) and Asia Overnight

Market Mark Change Note
S&P 500 Futures Mon record 7,534 New all-time high Deal-bid intraday rip
Nikkei 225 Mon 65,202 +2.94% (Mon) Catch-up to Friday’s deal hopes
Nikkei 225 Tue 64,996 -0.25% Profit-taking after big day
Hang Seng Tue 25,604 flat First day back after Vesak Mon
Shanghai CSI 300 Tue 4,948 +0.53% Property cohort lift
Kospi Tue 7,810 -0.29% Semis profit-take

Sensex Tue — -0.28% Oil bid risk-off lean
DAX Mon — +2.01% Massive reopen rally
CAC 40 Mon — +1.76% Luxury and autos lift
FTSE MIB Mon — +1.43% Industrials lead
Stoxx 600 Tue — -0.20% Profit-take after Mon rip
FTSE 100 Tue — +0.50% Mining lead

Asia is structurally constructive but with profit-taking after the Monday rally that priced the deal close, with the Nikkei consolidating 0.25 percent lower after Monday’s plus 2.94 percent move to 65,202 and the CSI 300 catching a property cohort bid on plus 0.53 percent. Europe is digesting Monday’s massive Continental rip (DAX plus 2.01 percent, CAC plus 1.76 percent, FTSE MIB plus 1.43 percent) with modest 0.2 to 0.3 percent pullbacks across the Continental bourses while the FTSE 100 alone lifts on mining strength. The cleanest structural read is that the Friday-to-Tuesday Asia and Europe sequence has now front-loaded a substantial portion of the deal-close optionality into the cash levels, which means the US complex is the marginal source of further upside.

AutoZone Q3 FY26 (Tuesday BMO, Preview)

Metric Consensus Note
EPS $36.13 $36.65 from Stocktitan
Revenue $4.86B Q3 FY26
Domestic Comp Sales n/a Watch DIFM acceleration
Commercial Sales n/a Inverse-Walmart trade-down read
Share Buyback n/a Pace confirms capital return

Our take on AutoZone: AZO is the clearest single read this week on the auto-aftermarket cycle and the trade-down dynamic that has been the binding theme since the Walmart soft Q2 guide. The DIY consumer is structurally weaker on the UMich 44.8 final read, but the DIFM (Do It For Me) commercial side is benefiting from the average-vehicle-age tailwind that is now north of 12.6 years and rising. We look for a clean EPS beat of $1 to $2 above consensus on the buyback math alone and a commercial comp acceleration into the high single digits to be the confirmation that the cycle is intact. Read-across is positive for ORLY and AAP if the print delivers, and modestly negative for the parts retailers if the consumer cohort weakens.

Zscaler Q3 FY26 (Tuesday AMC, Preview)

Metric Consensus Note
EPS $1.01 +20.2% YoY
Revenue $835.66M +23.2% YoY
Implied options move ~13% Set up tight either way
ARR / billings n/a Critical print line item
FY26 guide n/a Tone read for full year

Our take on Zscaler: ZS has beaten EPS and revenue 100 percent of the time over the last two years and the options market is pricing a roughly 13 percent move in either direction, which is wider than the usual single-name AMC volatility for a security-software name. The binding line item is calculated billings and net new ARR rather than the EPS beat, because the cohort multiple is being repriced lower across the security cohort (CRWD print Wednesday) and the read-across to PANW (which reports a week later) plus FTNT is the critical sector signal. We do not add ahead of the print but stand ready to add long if calculated billings come in above the 24 percent consensus, or to sell vol post-print on the typical mean reversion.

Hormuz Framework Architecture and the 60-Day Window

The leaked 60-day ceasefire framework is the cleanest single deal architecture we have seen since Operation Epic Fury kicked off on February 26, and the structural read across the four binding provisions is that the bilateral team has done the smart compromise work of deferring the genuinely contentious uranium enrichment and sanctions-unfreeze items to a phased timeline. The immediate provisions, namely the unconditional Hormuz reopening with no toll mechanism, the US naval blockade lift on Iranian Persian Gulf ports, and the 60-day ceasefire extension forward from May 25, are the deal items that move the energy curve and the equity complex on the open. The deferred provisions, namely the uranium enrichment phasing, the sanctions-unfreeze package architecture, and the asset-unfreeze sequencing, are the structurally harder items that will define the negotiation through the summer. Trump’s parallel push for an Abraham Accords expansion covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan is the broader Gulf-architectural overlay that signals the administration sees a window to reset the entire regional security framework on the back of the Iran deal close. The Bandar Abbas strike package and the IRGC counter-claims should be read as tactical posture rather than structural break, because Rubio’s confirmation that talks continue today is the cleanest signal that neither side is willing to walk away from the framework. We raise our memorandum probability mark to 58 percent and continue to position for the deal close while keeping the Brent curve hedge alive on the IRGC retaliation tail risk.

Warsh First FOMC Setup and the Duration Bid

Kevin Warsh is now the 17th Federal Reserve Chair, sworn in Friday at the historic White House ceremony, and the first Warsh FOMC at the June 16-17 meeting plus the accompanying dot plot is the binding medium-term curve catalyst. The 10Y at 4.51 percent is five basis points lower than the Friday print on the deal-optimism duration bid, with the 2Y bid to 3.95 percent (six basis points lower) and the 30Y bid to 5.03 percent (four basis points lower), the cleanest single bull-flattening since the FOMC minutes. The Warsh inheritance of a hawkish four-vote internal block (Hammack, Kashkari, Logan, Schmid) plus Warsh’s historic hawkish bias on the natural rate is the structural read that the December 2026 SOFR rate-cut path needs to compress from the current 87 basis points priced to a 50-65 basis point range, which is the foundation of the existing SOFRZ6 96.25/96.00 put spread we are holding. The first Warsh public statement post-swearing-in remains the binding short-term curve catalyst, with watchers expecting the new Chair to test his independence through the reform-oriented language he used at the swearing-in. The bull-flattening today is best read as a tactical deal-bid rather than a structural dovish repricing, and the right discipline is to hold the SOFR put spread plus the 30Y TYZ short structure into the June dot plot.

Trade Ideas | Sized for the Hormuz Framework Plus the Bandar Abbas Tail

Brent-WTI Spread Long via August Calendar Pair Plus Brent Sep $95 Put Protection (New)

Open new the Brent-WTI August spread long at the current $6.53 spread mark (Brent $99.18 versus WTI $92.65) via the structured pair: long ICE Brent August futures at $99.20 and short NYMEX WTI August futures at $92.65 in equal contract size, sized at 0.12 percent NAV gross. Layer the protection via a Brent September $95 put at the 1.10 mark, sized at 0.04 percent NAV, to cap the downside on a clean framework signing that drops Brent below the $95 strike. The structure expresses the read that the Bandar Abbas IRGC mine-laying confirmation has put a structural floor under the seaborne Brent risk premium while the Trump deal cadence is compressing the WTI domestic-production curve toward the $90 area, and the textbook divergence regime should widen the spread toward $8 to $9 over the next 10 to 15 trading sessions. Combined PT $8.50 spread (Brent stays around $100 and WTI compresses to $92), stop at $4.50 spread on a clean framework signing with Iran agreeing to a phased uranium drawdown. Risk: a single IRGC kinetic event in the Strait (mine strike on a commercial tanker, missile firing on a US asset, port closure) would reverse the spread quickly toward $5 because both benchmarks would rip higher in lockstep. The Brent September $95 put is the protective hedge against the deal-close downside and the spread compression simultaneously.

Cyclical Long via DE/ROST Hold Plus AZO Earnings Straddle Short (New + Hold)

Hold the existing DE June 19 540/570 call spread (Friday entry at 8.20 debit, currently marked 9.40 on the deal-bid lift) and the ROST June 19 175/185 call spread (Friday entry at 3.40 debit, currently marked 3.85), each at 0.05 percent NAV gross. Open new the AZO May 30 weekly $4,200/$4,400 strangle sold at the 65.00 net credit on the open, sized at 0.04 percent NAV gross of premium captured. The combined structure expresses the read that the cyclical-cohort cycle has bottomed on the Deere/Ross/Ralph Lauren prints plus the inverse-Walmart trade-down dynamic, and the AZO straddle short captures the typical mean reversion in the implied move on auto-aftermarket prints post-Q3. Combined PT for the DE and ROST adds at the Friday targets, PT on the AZO straddle short at a $4,250 to $4,350 close (full premium capture). Stop on the AZO straddle short at a $4,150 or $4,450 close (twice premium loss). Risk: an outsized AZO beat or miss that breaks the implied move band would compound the straddle loss, but the underlying cyclical thesis remains intact through Costco AMC Thursday.

SOFRZ6 Put Spread Hold Plus 30Y TYZ Short Compounder Plus New Risk Reversal on AAPL (Hold + New)

Hold the SOFRZ6 96.25/96.00 put spread (Wednesday entry at 4.5 debit, Friday mark 5.30, today’s bull-flattening compresses to 4.90 mark and we lock the 9 percent retracement as part of the position discipline) at 0.05 percent NAV. Hold the 30Y short via the TYZ pair at 5.03 yield, structurally compounding on the hawkish-dot-plot read into June 16-17. Open new an AAPL risk reversal long via the July 17 $220/$230 call long financed by the $200/$190 put short at 2.40 net debit, sized at 0.06 percent NAV gross, expressing the read that the China supply chain de-risk plus the WWDC catalyst at June 9 plus the iPhone 17 launch cadence at September prints sets up the August/September window for a clean multiple re-rate. Combined PT on the SOFR structure at 7.00 in three to four weeks on the June 16-17 dot plot release, PT on the AAPL risk reversal at 6.50 mark on a clean $230 cross. Stop on a 96.50 SOFRZ6 close (dovish Warsh signal) or an AAPL close below $200 (China supply chain disruption). Risk: a clean Warsh first-statement pivot toward dovish framing would compress the SOFR put spread quickly and the 30Y short into the dot plot, and the AAPL risk reversal would benefit only on the upside scenarios.

Signal Tracker | Tuesday 8:30 AM ET Reopen Mark

The Tuesday reopen mosaic is structurally constructive but binary-bifurcated by the cleanest single deal-architecture leak of the entire war (the 60-day Hormuz framework plus the Munir-Beijing “close to reached” briefing plus the Trump “proceeding nicely” cadence) running into the cleanest single counter-signal (the Bandar Abbas SAM-and-mine-boat self-defense strike package plus the IRGC MQ-9 Reaper downing claim plus the Shekarchi “far more severe” rhetoric), with the textbook Brent-WTI divergence (Brent plus 3.16 percent on the strike risk premium, WTI down 4.09 percent on the deal bid) the cleanest single market expression of the regime split. The S&P 500 e-mini at 7,534 is at the cycle record on the deal-bid lift, the bull-flattening duration trade (10Y minus five basis points to 4.51, 2Y minus six to 3.95) is the cleanest single risk-on confirmation, the DXY at 99.05 is soft on the dollar-risk-off lean, the VIX at 16.40 marks the second day below 17 since the war started, and the Asia-Europe sequence has front-loaded a substantial portion of the deal-close optionality into the Tuesday open. The book is now positioned at plus 5.8 percent net long gross (up from plus 5.6 percent Friday on the new Brent-WTI spread, the AZO straddle short, and the AAPL risk reversal adds) on the SMH and SK Hynix long hold, the new paired Brent-WTI spread long, the SOFRZ6 put spread plus 30Y short hold, the cyclical DE and ROST call spreads, and the trimmed WMT plus held TGT exposures. The binding catalysts inside the next 72 hours are the AZO and ZS prints, the Conference Board Consumer Confidence print at 10 AM ET, the IRGC retaliation cadence, the Salesforce and Snowflake AMC Wednesday, the Costco Dell Marvell trio Thursday AMC, and the Core PCE print Friday morning into the Computex June 1 Jensen keynote and the OPEC+ Ministerial June 7 running into the June 16-17 first Warsh FOMC plus dot plot.

What Could Be Wrong

The Tuesday reopen mark is a structurally constructive read on the Hormuz framework leak plus the deal-bid duration trade, a structurally bearish-tail read on the IRGC retaliation cadence plus the Bandar Abbas escalation envelope, a structurally bullish read on the cyclical-cohort corporate cycle into the AZO and Costco prints, and a structurally bearish read on US duration into the first Warsh FOMC. The three biggest sources of error in this setup are:

  1. A clean IRGC kinetic retaliation event inside the 60-day ceasefire window, especially a mine strike on a commercial tanker, a missile firing on a US naval asset, or a port-closure declaration covering Bandar Abbas or Bushehr. The Shekarchi “far more severe” framing plus the IRGC’s published MQ-9 Reaper downing claim raises the probability that Tehran needs a kinetic counter-strike to maintain domestic political credibility, and the structural risk is that any such event would simultaneously rip Brent above $110 and crush the S&P 500 e-mini back below 7,400. We model the probability of a clean IRGC kinetic event in the next 72 hours at 22 percent, the controlled-narrative posture at 60 percent, and the de-escalation at 18 percent.

  2. A Conference Board Consumer Confidence print below 88 with a sharp deterioration in the Present Situation index that confirms the stagflation re-read on the cyclical cohort, especially the DE and ROST adds that we are holding into the print. The April upwardly revised 93.8 is the structural base case for a CB print around 92.5 today, but the UMich 44.8 final divergence is the binding tail risk that the consumer cycle is breaking faster than the labor-market resilience can offset. We model the probability of a CB print below 88 at 18 percent, the in-line at 92 to 95 base case at 65 percent, and the upside above 95 at 17 percent.

  3. A dovish Warsh first public statement that breaks the hawkish institutional expectation and rapidly compresses the SOFR put spread plus the 30Y short positioning, especially if combined with a soft Core PCE print Friday at 2.3 percent year on year. Warsh has historically been a hawkish voice on the natural rate, but a first-public-statement pivot toward a “data-dependent” or “transition framework” framing would be the structural read that the new Chair is positioning to retain dovish flexibility into the June dot plot. We model the probability of a dovish Warsh first signal at 15 percent and the structural hawkish framing at 60 percent. The combined 0.10 percent NAV sizing on the SOFR put spread plus the 30Y TYZ short is calibrated to be losable on the dovish-tail.

The book is not betting on any single catalyst into the Memorial-Day-week reopen; it is positioned for the dispersion across the next five to seven trading sessions (AZO BMO, Conference Board 10 AM, ZS AMC, IRGC retaliation cadence, CRM/SNOW Wednesday AMC, Costco Dell Marvell Thursday AMC, Core PCE Friday morning) to widen on either deal-close or kinetic-escalation direction, with the Brent-WTI spread paired structure plus the SOFRZ6 short plus the cyclical-cohort adds plus the AAPL risk reversal positioned to harvest the dispersion rather than press a single directional view.

This note reflects information available as of May 26, 2026, 8:30 AM ET, one hour before the cash reopen following the Memorial Day weekend closed Monday session, the leaked 60-day Hormuz ceasefire framework, the Munir-Beijing “close to reached” briefing, the Bandar Abbas US self-defense strike package, the IRGC MQ-9 Reaper downing claim, and ahead of the 10 AM Conference Board Consumer Confidence print, the AZO BMO print, and the ZS AMC print. The Trump Truth Social cadence through the Tuesday session and any IRGC kinetic retaliation event may reset positioning by midday. The Wednesday Salesforce and Snowflake AMC, the Thursday Costco Dell Marvell trio, the Friday Core PCE print, the June 1 Computex Taipei keynote, the June 7 OPEC+ Ministerial, and the June 16-17 first Warsh FOMC plus dot plot are the binding catalysts into mid-month. For internal use only. Not investment advice.
